Japan Earthquake Shortened Days,
Increased Earth's Wobble

The magnitude 9.0 earthquake that struck Japan lase Friday was powerfull enough to shorten Earth's day by 1.8 microseconds and throw an extra 6.7 inches (17 centimeters) into the planet's wobble, scientists say.

Our Shifting Crust –More Torque Applied to the Lithosphere

2011-10-18 at 12:39

The recent earthquakes in Japan and New Zealand illustrate a point and are great reminders of the damage we are doing to the environment, they demonstrate the extra torque being applied to the Earth’s crust with a widening of the Rift Valley in Africa and a lengthening of transverse faults leading to a subduction of the crust elsewhere, namely off the coast of Japan and New Zealand. Historically, in the last crustal displacement both of these countries didn’t fare well, both being the center of massive volcanic eruptions after and during the event. Unfortunately for those living in N.Z and Japan the same will likely be true of the next event, especially in relation to the earthquakes they have been experiencing of late, meaning a subduction of plates off the coast in these areas and the epicenters of the tremors they have been experiencing. The 6.3, 7.1 and 6,5 Richter magnitude quakes also illustrate the increasing magnitude of earthquakes in the past 10 years; which is directly correlated to the polar ice melt, which is directly correlated to carbon pollution by man’s own hands. . . The insane point being, man continues to pollute the atmosphere because he knows not what he is doing, and, he does this with an uncaring attitude, to the planet, to himself, and, to the rest of creation. The tectonic plates are juxta-positioned and what happens to one will in turn have an effect on the plate next to it, and, so on. . . Would be nice if man could seriously tackle the problems he is creating, otherwise there will be consequences. . .
